Soluble oils are used extensively in the metal processing industry as a coolant in cutting, milling and grinding applications.
These are usually emulsions of 5% oil concentrate and 95% water and when disposed of are likely to have a residual content of chlorine which is included in their formulation to provide cooling for machining tools. This can create a problem if the waste is not treated in the correct manner.
