The Environmental Protection Act 1990
The Environmental Protection Act 1990 (EPA) is widely regarded as the foundation of environmental protection legislation in the UK. The ‘Duty of Care’ section sets out following responsibilities for all waste producers:
-
All reasonable care must be taken to ensure that the waste carrier is registered with the Environment Agency or Scottish Environment Protection Agency.
-
The waste must be taken directly to a correctly licensed facility.
